Currently we are spending the cold Melbournian winter months in Europe. A very special place in our hearts has Florence, the birthplace of Italian Renaissance art and architecture. We travelled to Florence to photograph at the famous Fashion event Pitti Uomo and also to capture portrait photos of Ferragamo.
Being in this amazing city already, gave us the opportunity to capture stunning engagement photos for our gorgeous couple Stephanus & Qi, which are having a holiday trip through Europe and were at the same time like us in Florence. Planned for a Friday, Qi suddenly felt a bit unwell the day before, we were able to reschedule for the next day, to ensure that she can enjoy the shooting.
We met in the early morning at Piazzale Michelangelo, from where we have an amazing overview of Florence. Incredibly, we were completely alone up there at this time. We have been many times before at this place at different times of day and night, but never have experienced it so empty. We used this to capture the two from different spots, which are so not able during the day while tourist are visiting this stunning place.
After such a great start, we drove down and parked near Ponte Vecchio, were we continued with photos in front of The Uffizi and at Ponte Vecchio, before we walked to Piazza della Republica and il Duoma Santa Maria Del Fiore. The couple had an AirBNB near the Duomo, so they changed into a more casual outfit and we continued through the streets nearby the Duomo up to the San Lorenzo Market.
It was an absolute pleasure to have this young couple around us and we are very much looking forward to experience their wedding next year in March.
