“Elyse, I love how much you look after me and guide me to be a better me. You always have my back no matter what and tell me every day how proud you are of me, and how much love you have for me.”
On March 4 we had the opportunity to capture the romantic wedding of Elyse & Robbie at Meadowbank Receptions. Alicia, the cousin of Elyse, recommended us to the young couple, after we captured her wedding last August and did a family shooting in the meantime. This gives us now a feeling of being part of this big amazing family, getting them to know more and more. Other than Alicia’s beautiful ceremony in the Xavier College Chapel, Elyse & Robbie created a complete different setup for their wedding. They got engaged in November last year and managed in only four months to put up an amazing decoration for their garden ceremony at Meadowbank Receptions. They did build everything by themselves, from the giant LOVE letter to the Entrance Door and the little stage. All working harmonic together. What a great effort from this loving couple.
As usual, we did split up for the preparation, starting this time for Kate with the groom, as he was support to leave quite early for the venue to check all the setup. At his home he was slightly nervous and very much under pressure to get his real bow tie in perfect order, managed to do a very good job after he trained last night until 1.30am. His four groomsmen presented him with a gift to remember, a beautiful watch. Once everyone was ready, the boys were picked up by two Rolls Royces.
In the meantime Marco and our videographer Simone made their way to the bride’s parents home for her preparation. We couldn’t have asked for more. Even Alicia & Dante were there, so it was kind of a coming home feeling for the boys. The house was full of people, like you would expect it in Italy (the family coming from there). The same cars, which picked up the boys came to get the stunning bride and her beautiful bridesmaids, while Marco and Simone travelled ahead to setup everything for the ceremony.
Robbie, getting really nervous and emotional while waiting, was already getting tears in his eyes before the bride walked down the aisle. We had an extraordinary celebration of love, packed with a roller-coaster of laughter, emotions, jokes and pure love between this two admirable lovebirds. After their ceremony, we had some time for their congratulations, followed by family photos and bridal party photos, before we managed to get only the two of them to take a few portraits.
The reception, held at the same place as a cocktail party, started with a big entrance of the bridal party, cutting the cake and having lots of fun! We had a big party with most of the guests enjoying the dancing, with the newlyweds smashing everyone during their First Dance, a remix of different songs and an astonishing choreography. We loved every second of it. Finally, after many hours of dancing, it had to come to an end, which we celebrated with the bouquet through and the garter. And how sensational the groom danced his way to his bride for snatching the garter under her stunning dress!
The final end was marked by a long guard of honour and the newlyweds were sent off with sparklers. What an amazing day, organised in such a short time and nothing went wrong. We are grateful for the recommendation of Alicia & Dante to their family and hopefully it will be not the last time that we meet these amazing families!
